Advertising policy
iGaming Terminal is a publication for the gambling industry, and it carries advertising from that industry. These rules decide who can advertise, to whom, and how. They exist so that every advertisement is lawful where it is seen, and so that our editorial work stays independent.
Who can advertise
- B2B advertisers: suppliers, platforms, game studios, payment and compliance providers, affiliate programmes recruiting partners, events, recruiters and service firms. B2B campaigns are aimed at industry professionals and can be shown in every market.
- Consumer gambling brands: operators that hold a licence in each market where their campaign will be shown. We ask for the regulator and licence number for every market and check them before the campaign starts.
Where consumer campaigns are shown
Our ad server reads our regulation tracker. For each visitor it takes the country, and the state or province where licences are local, and shows a consumer campaign only when all of these hold:
- the market licenses that product and allows its advertising;
- the advertiser holds a licence for that market, confirmed by us;
- any legal time window for that kind of advertising is respected.
Markets that are not in our tracker, markets where the product is prohibited or reserved for a monopoly, and markets that ban gambling advertising get no consumer campaigns at all. When in doubt, the campaign stays off.
Content standards
- Advertising is for adults only and must not appeal to anyone under 18, or under 25 where local rules require it.
- No claims that gambling is a way to earn money, solve financial problems or improve social standing; no "guaranteed", "risk-free" or "sure win" language.
- Bonus and free-bet offers only where the local rules allow them, with their key terms stated.
- Every consumer advertisement shows an 18+ notice and the licence it runs under, and local safer gambling messages where they are required.
- No advertising for unlicensed gambling, unregistered securities or products we cannot verify.
Labelling and links
- Advertisements appear in marked slots, labelled "Advertisement", never inside editorial text.
- Sponsored articles and press releases are labelled at the top of the page and are not submitted to search engines.
- Every paid link carries
rel="sponsored". We do not sell links for search rankings. - Our regulation data, rankings and analysis are never for sale.
Advertising is kept away from crawlers
Advertisements are loaded into the page by the reader's browser from addresses that our robots.txt closes to crawlers and that are marked not to be indexed. Search engines and AI assistants see our editorial pages, not the advertising on them.
Third-party advertising networks
Some pages show banner advertising supplied by a third-party network, Adsterra. We do not choose those individual advertisements. They run in separate, sandboxed frames, only in markets where our rules allow them, and never on our safer gambling, legal or checkout pages. If you see an advertisement that breaks these rules, please tell us and we will act on it.
Affiliate links
Some pages may contain affiliate links, which earn us a commission when a reader signs up with a partner. They are labelled, carry rel="sponsored", and links to consumer gambling brands are shown only to visitors from markets where that brand is licensed. They never affect our regulation data or analysis.
Our right to refuse
We may refuse or remove any advertisement that breaks this policy or the law of a market where it is shown. We remove non-compliant material first and discuss it afterwards.
