Editorial standards
Our readers make decisions about markets, contracts and compliance with what we publish. These are the rules we hold ourselves to.
Sources first
- Every statement about the law of a market comes from the law itself, the regulator's own publications or at least two established industry or legal sources, and each market page lists its sources.
- Where we are not certain, we say less: a missing detail is better than a wrong one.
- Market pages show the date they were last reviewed. Gambling law changes often, so nothing here is legal advice.
Numbers are computed, not typed
Figures in our explainers and calculators are produced by code from our data files and standard industry formulas, and each one is checked a second way before it is published. The calculators show the formulas they use, so anyone can check them.
Software and AI
We use software, including AI language models, to draft explanations around facts our code has already checked, and to translate pages into other languages. Drafts are checked automatically for unsupported numbers, missing links and filler, and anything that fails is not published. Our policies, data and corrections are maintained by our editors.
Independence from advertising
- Advertisers cannot buy coverage, change our regulation data or influence our analysis.
- Paid material is always labelled, and paid links carry
rel="sponsored". See our advertising policy. - We do not rank operators or recommend where to gamble.
Corrections
If you find an error, write to us with the source. We correct factual errors promptly and update the review date of the page.
Responsible coverage
We write about the gambling industry as a business and a regulated activity. We never encourage anyone to gamble, and every page links to free, confidential help.
